Walking the Tarka Trail from Bideford

I am wanting to do a short walk along the Tarka Trail from Bideford - up to 6 miles there and back. Scenically, which way is going to provide the best bang for my bucks over that distance - north to Instow or south to Landcross - or doesn't it make much difference?I'm planning on early April and would really appreciate any help, advice or comments. Thanks.

I've not seen all of the route, so it's difficult to recommend. However the trail to the north is very pleasant with river views. Have a look at:
