walking distance to the Louvre

I just found out that my hotel of choice is closed this month and I am looking to book a room in a cheap and cheerful hotel within walking distance of the Louvre. Any one have any suggestions? I would like to keep price under 100 euro.
thanks

Is there a reason why it has to be within walking distance?

Paris has terrific public transportation.

There are many nice not very expensive hotels near L'Opera a short walk to the Louvre.

I would prefer walking distance because we are only in Paris one day on our way to Italy and after our long flight I just want to be able to walk where we are going and not have to deal with figuring out the transit system

I don't know how cheap you want to go but we like the Hotel Andrea de Rivoli a 2* that is aobut 80-85 euros for a double. It is about 5 blocks from the Louvre, 4 blocks from Notre Dame, 1 from the Pompidieu and a block from the Hotel de Ville.

Of the hundred or more hotels most recommended here all the time, I'd say at least 90% of them are within walking distance for all but the disabled. The Louvre is so central for all hotels in the Latin Quarter, St. Germain area, and the Marais for starters.

On the venere site, you can search by location and by price - this might help as it will also give you availability.

Hotel Brighton on Rivoli is only a couple of blocks away. Moderate pricing.
