Walk along Tiber River

I'll be in Rome in March with the family (3 youngsters), and we're staying at a hotel that is located near the Tiber River (the Ponte Sisto area). Is it advisable(considering the traffic) to take a leisurely walk along the riverbanks as you might in Paris?

I'm not familiar with your exact location (others will be), but we found sidewalks along the scenic portions of the Tiber and lots of Italians and tourists alike doing just what you envision.

But the traffic is heavy... The Lungotevere are among the main arteries in Rome.

Your location is terrific, though.

I'm assuming that you're staying at the Ponte Sisto.Riverside strolling is highly recommended(mandatory,in my opinion.) You can have a lovely walk to Vatican City from your hotel.Buon Viaggio!

Absolutely! We do it at least once whenever we are in Rome.

The traffic is bad (loud). Perhaps it is better down along the river.

Avoid going on the low walkway along the river at night. (That warning was from our Roman landlord. Apparently some less-than-desirables spend the night down there.)

Are you staying at the Hotel Ponte Sisto? Lucky if you are!!!
