My French is so rusty.... I booked a ticket: Brussels-Paris. My email appears to say I only need to present my confirmation email on the day of travel in order to receive my ticket. Do I need to be concerned that I am NOT picking up this ticket in France, and that I do NOT have the credit card used to book (it was purchased by someone else)?

I always had to present my CC I used to purchase if I had to buy a ticket that need to be picked up. But for that instances, I had to use <i>Gare ou boutique : <u>La carte bancaire utilisée pour le paiement</u> doit être en cours de validité au moment du retrait, le code secret vous sera demandé.</i>
When is your trip? You couldn't get a non-refundable ticket that you could have printed on your computer?
Presuming Thalys, I think the last minutes ticket is about 99€ while advance non-refundable self-printable tickets, when available, would have been about 29€.
If you bought a refundable ticket for Thalys, you get a message like this as a ticket-less option: (you will not be given a self-print option) It does not mention need for CC like France only TGV trains (Gare/Boutique type). I wonder the 3D secure system eliminates a need to validate the actual card before handing the ticket.
<i>Ticketless : simple, pratique, rapide.
If you bought a self-printable ticket, you get a message like this:
<i>Billet Imprimé: Imprimez votre billet vous-même pour gagner du temps. Et payez cet achat avec le système 3DSecure </i>

The ticket will be picked up in Brussels. This was a non-refundable 23e fare. It is "le Ticketless Thalys".
As the poster above quoted, the confirmation email states:

what do you mean, confirm what?
The terms don't actually say you will have to show your credit card (they do for French tickets), so maybe you can get away with it if it has your name and birth date on it and you have that identificaiton.
That method chosen was the wrong one, it is for people with a Thalys fidelity card which is why it doesn't mention ID and says you can just show your Thalys card to get it. It is sent to the card without printing, that's what that method is. You should have chosen the method to print yourself, that is another choice.

oh, do you have a printed ticket? It sounds like it sends you a ticket by email and to your Thalys card and you can present either, that's what those terms mean. these were the terms before purchase:
<<Ticketless : simple, pratique, rapide.
Vous allez recevoir un email de confirmation de commande.
Chaque billet sera adressé séparément par email aux adresses renseignées.
Le jour de votre voyage, présentez soit votre billet Ticketless reçu par email, soit votre carte Thalys TheCard.>>

Thanks for your responses. I sent an inquiry to to the English speaking site, TGV Europe (which I didn't realize had tickets at the same price - much easier to use for me). They confirmed that no credit card would be required to be shown - simply the emailed ticket.
Normally, I do print my tickets at the time of purchase, however, this was not an option on this itinerary.
