We plan to visit Denmark and other Scandinavian countries in March. Is this a good time to visit?

Check the average temperatures and rainfalls for that period. You might find that the weather is likely to be too blustery for your taste.

COLD. I have been vacationing weeks and months in Copenhagen, almost annually, since the early 70s and usually go in the summer and it can even be cold then, depending on the summer. But, I have also been in both December (only once as I had to be there) and also in April (Maybe 2-3 times as I had to be there) and it was uncomfortably cold for me. I have been all over Denmark, many times, and not just in Copenhagen.

If you're used to cold weather, then you might be fine. But, the time for me to go to Copenhagen, as far as I'm concerned, is in summer and especially when the jazz festival is on as it's festive all over the city and people are sitting outside and enjoying jazz at various locations and doing other outdoor activities. When it gets cold, my long-time friends are usually heading out of Denmark to either their extra houses in the south of Europe or are scheduling vacations to other parts of the world where it's warmer.

I forgot to add that I think I was also in Copenhagen, once, during the last week in March, as I had to be there then for a few days to meet up with some of my Danish friends.

It's not always COLD. Some years spring has arrived by March and is pleasant weather and other years there is still snow on the ground and is bitterly cold but very beautiful if the sun is shining. You cannot predict what it will be. Denmark can be very windy.

Yes, VERY windy which makes it even colder. I used to bike through that awful wind and pouring rain, from Engrave Station area to Osterport Area, to get to school and it was cold. Danish weather is very unpredictable. But, I've experienced more cold than warm in DK overall.

I'm from Austin, like cool weather to travel in but went in early May. Planned for 50-60 and turned out to be 70s. Everywhere I went tourists were talking about having to buy clothes since the weather was so unexpected.

Loved the fact that the sun "never" set so from 9pm on was dusky but never dark. Now I leave for Brussels and Budapest and sun will set by 630 but it is September and not May.

Are you just thinking about it or are you definitely going?
