Visa line at Istanbul airport ?

Can anyone give details of where the Visa purchase place is situated ? I want to make tracks to it as soon as I can, I presume its before customs ? Also anyone have experience of getting on the hydrofoil from Marmaris to Rhodes, how long did the customs preliminaries take. I have been told that it is easier when going Turkey to Greece than the other way ?

I have gone twice with hydrofoil from Marmaris to Rhodes for a daytrip. I don't remember any major customs preliminaries either way. In Marmaris we left our passports to the customs the previous day, and got them back in the morning right before the boat left. There was this customs booth in the harbour by the hydrofoil, and people just showed their passports. In Rhodes the same. No hassle.

Sorry, I don't know about the visa line because I don't need a visa to Turkey.

You get your visa at a counter on your left, just before customs. Look fo it , easy to miss. Have the correct cash ready, $100 for Americans. No applications to fill out, just a postage size stamp that is stuck in your passport.

The line was horrible and not moving when we arrived in Istanbul. There seemed to be a problem with no attendant there. We were glad we had sent our passports off to the Turkish embassy in Washington a month before we went so we could bypass the line. Other than the postage it didn't cost us anything extra. As I recall I downloaded the forms off the internet after doing a google search under Turkish Visa.

We don't get to Marmaris until the day of the hydrofoil trip, how does that work with the customs/passport control. I presume it must be possible to do it when you arrive ?

Nejat, do you mean cash to buy the tickets ? I have already got them! I was a bit worried about arriving without enough time.
