VIP apartment #116/Any reviews?
Hello Fodorites,
After reading good reviews on VIP, both here and on Trip Advisor, we decided to rent an apartment for our Paris trip in April 2008.
So far, our experience with VIP has been great, but I have not seen any reviews of the apartment we chose (#116).
If any Fodorites have rented this apartment, we'd love to know your impressions. From the pictures, it looks perfect, but we'd love to hear from someone who has actually stayed there.

TIA!

I haven't stayed there - but -- can I come with you!
It looks terriffic and the location/views are amazing. My only slight issue is the living room looks pretty small. But that is a minor kvetch - the views, kitchen, and 2 bathrooms more than make up for it. The rates seem quite reasonable for that location/amenities.

Looks good to me,and I've bookmarked the page for future reference. The only question I have is about air conditioning, which shouldn't be a concern for your April trip. Since the apartment appears to be on the top floor, it could be hot in the summer. I skimmed the listing, so maybe I missed the heating/cooling specs.

Grerat looking bedrooms and bathroom. It appears though that there is seating for only three in the living room and for only two at the small dining table. This could be a consideration if there will be four people in your party.

"<i>it appears though that there is seating for only three in the living room . . . .</i>"
The living room seems to have seating for at least 4 -- the sofa/loveseat and 2 striped upholstered chairs.
Plus there are the two chairs next to the chest in the hallway that could be moved into the living room if you had quests over. And two more chairs out on the balcony

I think it's pretty good if you want that location. It is pricey, but that's the cost for vacation rental apts in Paris with those amenities (2 BR, 2 bath). I assume you noticed the elevator stops one floor below, which wouldn't bother me. Being on the 6th floor might be nice for traffic noise reasons and view (hope the elevator doesn't break).
It is extremely small for a 2 BR, 2 bath apt., of course, but I've seen that in Paris a lot. The decor looks nice as they say the owners are architects, so that helps. I can't quite imagine a 2 BR, 2 bath apt with kitchen that is less than 600 SF although it looks adequate for that size. I know all the rooms are certainly small at that size, but sometimes it makes me wonder if they measure apt. size differently in France than the US. I've never seen a 2 BR, 2 bath apt where I live that is less than 600 SF.

Thank you for all your replies! It really does look fantastic, doesn't it?
The small rooms don't really bother me...I've been in tiny hotel rooms in Paris.
Also, as usual for Paris, we won't be spending very much time in the rooms anyway. This will be my in-laws first visit to Paris, and it promises to be a very busy trip.
The location and the views are really what sold us, as well as the fact this apartment is 2 bedroom/2 bath. It sounds perfect for two couples...hopefully we'll find it 'cozy' rather than 'tiny'!
