For anyone who has stayed in Apt. #3 at Al Poggiolo in Montepulciano.

I really like this apartment because of the balcony, however??.........can you tell me about the second bedroom?
From the photo it looks like two sofas with one on a different level.
Please clarify this room for me as we are 4 adults and would certainly use this room.

Thank you.

We did not stay in this particular apartment, but my sister and I stayed in apartment #4 in April of this year. The apartment was very comfortable, plenty of room for four adults, we especially liked having two bathrooms with showers. The owners are very sweet, the premises well kept, great views.

We (hubby and I) just got back from Italy and stayed in apartment #3 for a week. It was wonderful for us, but not sure it would work for 4 adults.

The second bedroom has one small bed,and a second small bed that is actually a mattress on a built-in platform. Then there is a fairly small bed (mattress on a a built-in platform up higher in the room) reached by climbing a cool wooden ladder. We didn't use these beds, since there were only two of us. The room itself is nice. We used this room to store our luggage and coats.

The main bedroom with the large bed was great. The bed and pillows were so comfy!

The balcony was great! Even with the cool November weather we sat outside several late afternoons and evenings. We even used the barbeque on the balcony to grill a steak for dinner one night.

The fireplace in the living room was a great feature - used it everyday.

There is one full bathroom in this apartment (toilet, sink, shower)along with a small "powder room" (toilet and sink). This might be a difficulty for four adults if you are all trying to get ready to go out at the same time.

However, for the two of us, this apartment was perfect and we are already planning a return trip.

If you want to know anything else about the apartment, or about Montepulciano (which we absolutely loved!), just ask.

We also stayed in that apartment. SCFoodie has pretty well described my memory of the second bedroom.

A friend and I stayed in this apartment. I agree with SC Foodie, it is probably not set up for four adults as the beds in the second bedroom are small. I think this room is best for children, or in our case, my friend. Hey, we flipped a coin and she lost. But, otherwise, the apartment was great and the balcony a huge plus.

Five of us stayed there in September in Apartment 1. There would be more than enough room for you as there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. No balcony but it looks straight on the garden. A lovely place to stay ( we originally got the idea from neoPatrick) and Montepulciano is interesting too. Good luck!

Geez, with so many of us staying there, I'm thinking we should start requesting a Fodors rate! Although it was already an incredible bargain when we did it -- now four years ago!

kellyee21 - Sure we saw you! We arrived on Nov. 1 and left on the morning of Nov. 8. Did you eat lunch on Friday at La Briciola? Or dinner on Friday at Osteria Acquacheta? If so, we probably did cross paths.

NeoPatrick - I agree, we should talk to the owners about a Fodors discount.
