If we( three couples) wanted to rent a villa in Italy, could someone suggest a region that would be reasonably priced with a good view and in the country? We have been to Italy several times, but I am not that familiar with the countryside. I liked Tuscany and Umbria. We do not speak Italian. <BR>Thanks, CSG

We rented through rentvillas.com and had a good experience with that company. They have properties all over Italy. My travels are limited to Tuscany,Rome and Venice. If you are interested in returning to Tuscany and Umbria I'd suggest picking a region you had not stayed in. I found Tuscany so varied depending on the region.

Cherry, First, spend some time at slowtrav.com to learn about renting. Tuscany has by far the most options, but also look at Liguria and Veneto.<BR>Also, decide when, how long and how much before you get too serious looking at properties--there are several hundred to consider, and you will need to qualify your serach.
