Vienna or Budapest? Help Needed!
Hello,
Due to advice taken from previous posts, my fiance and I will either be eliminating Vienna or Budapest from our Europe trip and are having trouble deciding which one. We are not so much into museums or the opera, but are interested in visiting unique places with unique architechture. Please let me know which one you think we should visit.
Thank you!!!

I'm going this fall. Landing in Venice (2 days Venice), train to Munich (3 days Munich), then ending the trip in either Vienna or Budapest (3 days). We've both been to Europe, but neither of us have been to any of these four cities. Thoughts on Vienna vs Budapest for 3 days?

Vienna but you still have too much traveling for a short time.
You should be realistic about your time in each city:
Venice - 1.5 days
Munich - 2 days (7.5 to 8.5 hours on the train)
Vienna - 2.5 days or Budapest - 2 days (5 or 7.5 hours on the train)

Budapest if you are not particularly into museums. Vienna has quite a few of the good ones.
Been to both recently. While I love both, my vote goes to Budapest. Very charming and beautiful with more than fair share of interesting architecture for those interested.

We were also just in both; and while I would like to return to Vienna to see the museums (river cruise stop for us), and perhaps some musical evenings, if I would be returning tomorrow, I would choose Budapest. For reasons unknown, it has struck a chord in my heart; a lovely, enchanting city - good food, good beer, architecture, history - enjoy.
