Milan Airport to Train Station

I'm flying into Milan from JFK and then taking a train to Venice. I am wondering how long it takes to get checked luggage and get thought all the airport stuff and then take bus to the Milan train station. If I arrive at 8:00 AM should I book a train for 11 or 12???

Hi EB,

Based on past experience - 12:00.

The worst that will happen is that you will spend a while at a cafe getting into the Italian way of "il dolce far niente".

When are you traveling? Unless it's a busy time of the week (aka a Fri before holiday weekend) or time of year (now thru July, when many tourists arriving) it may be just as easy to purchase your train ticket once you arrive in Italy.

There's a recent thread discussing pros/cons of using Trenitalia, and booking train travel ahead.
