Hello AB:

You may wish to check out Hotel Pont Royal in the 7th. We stayed there in November and were very pleased with the entire experience. Gradyghost

Pavillon de La Reine (high end), 3rd district, in the Marais would be my choice if I were looking for a honeymoon hotel.

grady,

thank you for the response. I looked at the hotel you mentioned online and noticed that some rooms may have a balcony. Is this true?

Could you describe your room and the view you had?

Thank you!

Hello AB:

We splurged for a junior suite and had a spacious bedroom, a separate sitting room and two bathrooms, one with shower, tub, sinks etc, and the other with comode, hand sink, etc. As I recall, we did not have a balcony; I think you must request the top floor for a balcony with view. The factor that will cause me to return was the enthusiastic and very helpful staff, starting with Pierre Tieng, the Concierege, (www.paris-assistance.com) and extending to the bar and dining room. Moreover, the location is perfect in that you are just off Blvd. St. Germain but far enough for quiet.

Seconding the Pavillion de la Reine, both for the hotel and for the great location on the Place de Vosges.

AustinBride,

If you truly want help, you really should tell people what price range you're thinking of. There are loads of people with great information on this board, but "nice hotel of average - high end" can mean different things to people. Are you talking about the George V? To some that would be high end average? or are you talking about 150 euros a night? Please if you want to get the most out of this board, give more information.

Have a look at the Hotel Central Saint Germain, a beautiful 3 star hotel, that has been totally renovated last year...It is located in the 5th, in the Latin Quarter near metro stop Cluny la Sorbonne...A very nice area to stay in for honeymmon...
The hotel is decorated in the typical French romantic style..
You can see it on http://www.centralstgermain.com
Have a nice honeymoon!

Also, your taste...do you want modern or traditional? Do you want a hotel near lots of nightlife or someplace quiet? When are you going?
