Verona - Venice : Bus or train?
My friend and are doing point-to-point from Milan to Vienna in June; We will get off in Verona and go out to Venice for a day or so. Is is cheaper/better to take the bus or the train? Any other advice?

Hi abby,
If it would make you feel better, you can purchase tickets up to 60 days in advance online from www.trenitalia.com/en for the same price as in Italy.
For IC trains you will get a confirmation of the purchase and will have to go to the station to get your ticket.
For ES* trains the confirmation is the ticket.

Hi again,

Why not go directly to Venice from Milan, or are you planning on staying in Verona?
The train from Venice to Vienna goes by way of Verona.

I have only bought train tickets at the local train station(s) a few days ahead. I have yet to run into a problem doing so.
Not that this proves anything either, but I don't know anyone who has chosen a bus instead of the train system when traveling around Western Europe.

Have fun in Verona. It's a great town for walking around and exploring. They have an incredible Roman amphitheater, a big outdoor market and some pedestrian-only zones.
