Venice schedule

We arrive at the train station at 9:35A and have an 11A gondola ride scheduled. We would like to drop out luggage at our hotel, the Pensione Wildner on the way. Is this enough time?

I'm going to guess 9:35am and 11am are the two times and the station is Santa Lucia not Mestre.

It is not clear if you are walking, taking the water bus or a water taxi. Nor where the gondola ride is leaving from.

My gut feels you have enough time, but clarification of geography would help.

The boat ride from Ferrovia up to San Zaccharia takes about 35 minutes.
If your Frecciarossa 9400 arrives in time, you may reach your hotel around 10.40.

You might make it but this is too close for comfort IMO. Things don't always go on schedule. Can you reschedule your gondola ride?

yes, the train station arrival at S. Lucia is at 935A and the gondola ride meeting spot is Calle Larga dell-Ascenzione 30124 Venice. We will take us the fastest way to get there making a stop to drop luggage at Pensione Wilner. Thank you.

I would just move the gondola to a few hours later so you have time to get your bearings and slow down a bit. There is plenty to do in Venice between when you drop off your bags and a gondola ride....

Ditto. Venice isn't a rush about sort of place. I'd book the gondola for after lunch.

I suspect your vaporetto ride starts from Bacino Orseolo just behind Piazza San Marco—about a 10-minute walk from the Wildner. I also suggest you move your gondola reservation.

You really don't ever need to reserve a gondola ride (unless its a special event).

Just cancel the gondola ride. Gondolas are everywhere in Venice. The location of the ride you have booked is not the best - you will be paddled along in a procession.

As yo8u certainly know, the departure point of your gondola ride is about 1 km from your hotel. Load down a good map, otherwise you may have problems to find it.

Definitely don’t schedule a gondola ride in advance. Go when the weather is good and you are not rushing. Plenty of gondolas around. Start at a point further from the crowds and ask for a ride down the small canals. Sunset is a great time for a gondola ride. Enjoy!
