Venice Itinerary Help
Our apartment in Venice runs Sat through Sat.
Most likely we will not do too much our first day since we get in @2pm, and the day we leave we leave very early.
Starting Sunday, our first full day, I thought it would make sense to spend each day wandering a different sestieri, with one day for the Lagoon Islands.
Can anyone tell me what might be open/closed on a Sunday, or if there are other days of the week where certain things are closed so that I can plan accordingly?
Most of the guidebooks list hours of operation for things like Rialto Market, churches, etc, but not days of the week which they are open or closed.

I've always wanted to be in Venice on a Sunday because the monks sing a Gregorian Mass at San Giorgio church (the white marble church across the lagoon from Saint Mark's) at 11am (check the times, my memory could be wrong). I have heard from so many people that it is amazing to hear!!

Hi
www,aguestinvenice.com has a lot of information on calendars and days and hours of admission. YOu can also pick up a current hardcopy of that publication on arrival--it is free.
I would not try to do all three lagoon islands on one day, but that's me.
I would pair Burano and Torcello together because they are further out.
Murano is a 20 minute ride, you can easily go anytime if you want to go shopping for glass. It has a couple of nice churches but is not as picturesque as the other two.
Museums are open on Sundays, so is the Doge's Palace, the Jewish Ghetto, etc.
