Venice - help finalizing hotel choice
Hi everyone - we're traveling to Italy at the end of September and kicking off the trip with a two night stay in Venice. I've read a lot of posts recommending the Dorsoduro area, so I think most of these hotels are located there with the exception of Lisbona.
I just want to stay somewhere clean, with a decent private bath, good location and not too expensive. I don't care that much about the view from the room as I expect we'll be out and about most of the time. It's just me and my husband and we won't have a lot of luggage.
Can anyone give me feedback on the choices below?
1. Hotel Lisbona
2. Locanda Ca' Zose
3. Palazzo Guardi
4. Hotel Tiziano

I think you cant do much better than reading what people have said about these places on Tripadvisor. If you take time to read through a few pages you will get a good sense of each places advantages and disadvantages. All seem decent though.

I don't know any of these Venice hotels, however, I am intrigued by Hotel Tiziano.
It sits smack dab between Santa Marta and San Basilio Vap. stops and is in an absolutely quiet corner of Venice!
You can easily walk to the hotel from Piazzale Roma (I like to take #5 bus from Marco Polo) or Santa Lucia Station.
I am glad you brought this hotel to my attention because I am always looking for a place away from the Tsunami of tourists in Venice.
This hotel is also close to Billa Supermarket on the Zattere.
I love this Billa. Great place to get wine, bread, cheese, snacks, razors, deodorant, etc.

We are staying at Hotel Saturina....I like the location. We are there 2 nights, and happy it is closer to the center. In the evening there is music nearby. My friend stayed outside last May and was disappointed that she was not closer to the square in the evening.

If I am not mistaken, all Billa supermarkets in Venice were acquired by the Conad chain either earlier this year or last year, and even if still open (and many are), they have switched names and are no longer called Billa. I doubt it makes any difference to variety of products they carry.
