We always walk to the boat. However I consulted Canon Chasuble and he also thought that he saw the shuttle bus. This was in April, so it might be discontinued now

I have a similar situation as OP in that we are arriving at night. The Alilaguana schedule is very limited, and I don't like the idea of waiting at the airport for an hour or more for the next one. I'd like to be flexible and perhaps try to share a water taxi with another couple or, as a last resort, grab a water taxi for the two of us. Is it necessary to book something in advance? Or will we see taxis there looking for customers?

Also, if we do reserve a water taxi, what do we do if we arrive early? We are hoping that we might get on an earlier flight.

Thanks so much.

if you think you may be early, instead of pre-booking a water taxi, go to the info desk just in front of you are you exist the customs area at the airport, and book and pay for one there. then walk down to the dock and find your driver. even if it costs you an extra €20 [ie €5 each or the cost of a cappuccino in some places in Venice] I'd say it was worth it.

you can phone the apartment manager/owner from the boat to say you are on your way. [make sure that you know how to phone italian numbers!]

oops - i realise that I am answering YOUR question, Modeen, not the OPs.

but the info is still good.

Thanks, annhig. I didn't mean to butt in on the OP posting, but I guess I did.

no problems, modeen, i wasn't grumbling; but you might find that you get better responses if you start your own thread.
