Vatican/Scavi question
My husband and I just received confirmation of our reservation for the scavi tour! It is 10:45 am. Would this give us enough time afterwards to see the rest of the Vatican that afternoon? Thanks!

It depends on what you mean by "the rest of the Vatican."
The Scavi tour takes about an hour or 75 minutes. After that it depends on how much time you want to spend exploring St. Peter's Basilica and how much you want to see inside the Vatican Museum.
Perhaps you want to see just the Sistine Chapel or there might be other sections of the museum that are important to you.
It is also a long walk from St. Peter's to the entrance of the Vatican Museum and then there is usually a long line of people waiting for admission.
I suggest you do some reading in guidebooks about the sights of St. Peter's and the Vatican Museum. Then decide what is important to you and plan accordingly.

You will finish your tour around 12:00-12:15. You can grab a QUICK bite and get into the vatican museum without a line. Figure at least 3 hours in the museum.
You could then head to St. Peter's and get a free tour (tips only). This will take about 1 1/2 hrs.
You might want to get there before 8 am and tour St. Peter's before you go on your great Scavi tour.
Either way, you'll have a full and great day.
