Sorry to see US team come home. But, as I posted on US board: Pleased for Ghana that they'll advance.

Less pleased with level of US play and less pleased with some of the ref calls in this and previous game. That penalty kick call wasn't correct, but US wasn't playing so well that that made a difference.

Hope we'll be back in 2010 with stronger manager, stronger team. But thanks to the guys who did go this year -- & bless 'em for what they did!

Muck - I think a lot of the casual viewers who probably didn't understand the game to begin with will probably drop off. I don't consider that a bad thing though.

I'll continue watching every match personally, although sometimes I have to switch to the Spanish channels to watch when I can no longer take the inane commentators we have here.

I have also been watching Univision for some of the games. Brazil, Argentina & Spain all look to be playing quite well. I still think Brazil can be beat as they are so aggressive on Offense. We'll see. Good luck to England, though I don't like their chances.

Although I rooted for the U.S., I'm happy that Ghana won--nice to see a small, often overlooked, African country in the spotlight and for something positive rather than the usual African news story of violence or famine.
I will probably also watch the Italy games now that Daniele de Rossi has been slapped with a 4 game penalty. I'm curious to see how they perform without Il Gomito.

BTW, that incident with McBride shows one of the key reasons soccer (or, er, football) has a hard time attracting Americans.

Did you notice that McBride immediately got up, bloodied and all, and trotted to the sidelines with barely an acknowledgement of his very valid injury?

Compare that with the diving and play acting of the South American and European players. And don't even get me started about the stretchers!

I happen to like soccer, but really, if I see one more dive, I just may vomit.
