LOL Schuler! It's funny how threads can go off in some of the directions they do.

I need to thank the English, BTW, I was out in Vegas for their first match and won a little $$$ on that first 'own-goal' win.

Wow, exciting stuff, the Czechs are (as opposed to the Czech team is) a man down and looking poor, so the US have(has) everything to play for. They need 2 goals now though.

"How good do you think the USA team actually is?"

I'm not sure if I should address the answer to "Mr. Custard" or "Mr. Softee" but I would say they are good enough to prompt you to ask the question. Given your standing here how much better could a team possibly be? (LOL)

This may interest you - it's a British newpaper's minute by minute commentary (not entirely serious).

Either are fine my tea-tax dodging friend.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but actually I think the USA are (see spygirl!) utter pants.

Italy 2, Czech 0.

The U.S. are getting the opportunity served on a silver platter - just up to them now!

>>90 mins + 1 Team America need two goals in the last four minutes. <<
Carrie Dunn at the Guardian website

For those of you really into the grammar debate, her e-mail address is indicated there, too !

Well it's all over for Team America - nobody gave you a chance of getting out of your group, so don't feel too hard done by.

See you all in South Africa in 2010.

It looks like the US was not the only overrated team - check out the Czechs.

FIFA = 1
USA = 0

Ref makes the US play a man down against Italy and disallows what would have been the winning goal. Today, the ref gives Ghana the winning goal when the US looks like they're about to take over the game.

Can ESPN get back to real sports now. lol

Do I get a prize for my correct prediction? I also need to ask David West: you've been awfully snippy toward Americans and the Scots lately, absolutely wallowing in stereotypes. Is this your attempt to cover for CotswoldScouser while he's AWOL? You're doing a very good job of it.
