Upscale Hotel in Prague

I may need to visit Prague for 2 days (partly biz) in October from Paris, unfortuantely I may not know until a week ahead.
The 4 Seasons is sold out, and I am not aware of others.
Waht would be a nice Hotel near the 4Seasons or main sqaure for approx. $200-300/night or maybe more.
The 4Seasons was available earlier with discount for 250 Euros!

While I have no experience with seeking info on upper end hoels in Prague, I can rcommend contacting the agency www.athos.cz - - served me and my family well (with a pair of apartments) in spring 2003.

Best wishes,

Rex

The Renaissance isn;t bad. Nothing like a Four Seasons - but fairly large, modern, with office services and a location right adjacent to the old town. Rooms are standard Marriott sort.

Too bad about the Four Season, but look into the Pariz, it is an older hotel, but with a good reputation and a great location

I liked the look of Hotel Neruda when researching Prague, it's near the castle. A friend recently came back from Prague and visited this hotel for dinner. She said it was beautiful and she wished she'd stayed there.

Here's the problem with staying by the castle; the schlep up the hill everytime you want to walk somewhere. If you plan on cabbing it, nevermind.

We LOVED the Metamorphis. Right behind the Tyne Church in a quiet little square. They have two beautiful large suites that are almost bigger than they need to be, and a great restaurant in the medieval cellar. Awesome.

Actually, I just remembered, they called them apartments, not suites. #21 or 31.

There was an article about Prague in the travel section of our Sunday paper today. For an upscale hotel they recommend the Aria Hotel for that "you only live once" experience. It is a boutique hotel beneath the castle. Very expensive but rate includes courtesy chauffeur airport service, as well as other amenities. I have not personally stayed there but "Czech" out their web-site ariahotel.net.

I think the aria was the hotel Samantha brown stayed in on her Prague TV show. Another beautiful hotel is the Karla kraila or Kraila Karla. Can`t remember which. It`s in Mala Stana. It`s an old 16th century monastery, and is absolutely beautiful. Stained glass windows, fireplaces, canopy beds and lots of carved wood.
