Does anyone have any unique and not-so-touristy activities to suggest in Rome? I have been to Rome a couple of times and I am looking for more interesting activities to do! Will welcome any suggestions, thank you!

I would go to the Italy forum and search Rome. I did that and found a great deal of information. Have been to Rome about 6 times and will be there in Oct and Nov. Am amazed at all the places we will go that are unique--and got it all from here.

ASAP--if you are going soon, check out Palazzo Farnese. English tours on Wed at 5pm but spots are limited. If you don't see it, write them. They have great customer service.

The Capuchin Crypt jumped right to mind as soon as I read your post. I've never heard of the Pasta Museum -- that sounds fun!

Is the Pasta Museum open anymore? I thought it had closed but could be wrong.

I rented a bicycle for a day last October. It was nice to skirt past major sights and the plodding hordes. A lot spiffier way to transept Circus Maximus than on foot! You cover a lot of territory and master the geography, and find lots of ins and outs that would take forever and wear you down otherwise. Even the major streets were easy to negotiate as they are all unconventional widths, so it is like there is always room for a bike, and traffic was very respectful and considerate. Soccer matches are unique to each city and culture in Europe. I wouldn't go to a Lazio match, though.

Galleria Doria Pamphilj and St. Paul Outside the Walls were two sights we greatly enjoyed with very few other tourists around.

I agree with Nola's recommendations and also the Capuchin Crypt. Other ideas: Keat's house, San Giovanni in Laterno, Scala Santa, Ostia, roof top of Victor Emmanuel Monument, the Protestant Cemetery--very beautiful and more of a garden than cemetery. Nearby is the Pyramid and remains of the old wall. From there you could go down Via Marmoratta and have lunch at Perilli. The baths of Caracalla is worth a visit.

We're planning a visit the the Centrale Montemartini, a museum housed in a old power plant. The juxtaposition looks really interesting.
