Marissa, January in London is normally very cold (although I know that 'cold' is relative!). - I have heard that NYC has a similar climate to LondonIt can snow, rain, be frosty, icy etc. But sometimes there are sunny, crisp days. If you were to come over here during January, I would bring a thick coat, umbrella, boots, scarf and gloves.

If you were to come in May, the weather would be much improved. Nice, warm sunny days(usually not hot, but warm), but you may get some showers. I would pack t shirts, light trousers, maybe jeans, one or two jerseys and a light jacket and an umbrella ('brolly'!)
