Twenty Nevern Square Hotel
OK, so far this is the only hotel I have checked that have availability for me for August. And the price is a bit more than what I wanted, but not too bad and they include a supposedly fabulous and large breakfast.
I have checked this board and anything written about this hotel is from at least 3 years ago. So anyone been here lately?
I am mostly worried about what I read on these older threads, i.e. that the area is not really safe (Earl's Court area) and that it is pretty way out of the center. Any comments and help please?

There is nothing "un safe" about Earls Court. So don't let that concern you. It isn't the most central location but the transport options are fine.
If I were to stay in Earls Court, Twenty Nevern Square is probably one of the best hotels I could choose. it is a nice place.

Meant to add - I stayed in the Earls Court area many times years ago before I discovered other areas I perfer. It has come up a lot since back then and isn't the dump it it used to be by a long shot.
I personally would choose a different neighborhood - but you would be just fine at 20 Nevern Sq.

thanks janis. I assume that my original idea of staying in Bloomsbury area is much better? Are there other areas that you might suggest as well for me?
travelnut - I had read the reviews on trip advisor. I wanted more opinions from here.

Flame, I suggested londontown.com on one of your other threads. They've got a number of 4* options in your price range. In Bloomsbury, the Hotel Russell is offered at £93 a night. Very nice hotel in a great location. Doesn't include breakfast though.

Earls court isn't a bad area at all. I find that you use transit so much in London that location itself isn't that important other than having good underground connections. You can get almost anywhere from Earls court with only one train ride (including Heathrow).
I haven't stayed in Earls court in a while as you can get such good deals using Priceline. Have you tried that?
