Looking for a picturesque, romantic villa to celebrate our wedding with 12-16 guests. Best would be a main villa with a 1 bedroom cottage. Must have a pool. Ideal would be close enough to walk to town and where other guests who will attend the wedding could stay at inns. The villa would need to be able to accommodate the wedding celebration with at least 30 people attending - as we do not want to rent chairs/tables/etc. A cook would be needed some of the time, who would also be able to handle the food for the wedding. So many websites to look at it is hard to really know what is good. We are drawn to Montepulciano, Cortona, Sienna. Any suggestions would be helpful and very appreciated!

Montepulciano apparently only has a couple taxis so a car is best in the area.

It will be a challenge to find what you want within walking distance of a town as these villas tend to be a distance from towns. It may be best to rent cars.

JKW2. we stayed at La Foce a few years ago and just visited friends staying there last month. It is, unfortunately, not within walking distance to anything and without public transportation. We've seen 2 villas now and they are gorgeous but very private and far removed from the others.

The staff there is exceedingly helpful...You may want to contact them with questions if you are willing to rent cars.

I wouldn't stay in a rural villa without cars. Lots of cars... one per couple or family group. Even if you're within walking distance of a town the size of Montepulciano.

Without cars, for a start you'd have to figure out transport on arrival and departure between the villa and the nearest train station or airport. The cost of that alone might cover a car rental. Without cars, I think you'd have to hire a daily cook who would also do the food shopping.

Take a look at www.torredipaciano.it a beautiful historical building with views to die for, with a second building for overspill guests. Ample in size and the possibility to organise events. When are you planning on getting married?
