tuscany to the vatican
need help going from Pieve Presciano in Tuscany to the Vatican by 9:00am next Wednesday morning. Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to do this. Trains do not leave any town close by early enough. If we drive to Rome will it be possible to park somewhere near the vatican. There are six adults going. Could we possibly stop at a town on the outskirts of Rome and take a train or metro in? Need help. Thanks,

On www.mappy.com enter Rome on the map portion. After the map loads, on the right hand side under practical info select car parks. They will appear numbered on the map and with clickable links below the map. It's possible to park at a commuter station north of Rome a bit, park and then train in.

The Rome hotel Parco de Medici Holiday Inn just off the GRA has a shuttle that goes into town or you can take the train in from near there. You may want to go in the night before. The hotel is pretty reasonable, about €100 per night.
