hi rebroc,
the only one I can help you with is the Royal Victoria in Pisa. in fact we've stayed there twice - once over 25 years ago when there were just the two of us, and about 18 months ago with our big "kids".
the public rooms seem to have change little in the last 35 years, [or possibly the last 135 years] but our bedrooms were tiny compared to what we had the first time, when the bathroom was the size of our bedroom at home, and the bedroom itself was HUGE.
we never got as far as the rood terrace as it wasn't open when we were in the hotel, but the other public rooms were as lovely and quirky as we remembered.
regards, ann

I trust you've already looked at www.tripadvisor.com for a wider selection of reviews. There's also www.venere.it.
