Staying in Tuscany

We fly into Pisa for a few days in the Tuscany region. We would like to stay in Lucca or Sienna. We have a car rented so that we can explore. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to stay? We are open to staying in town so that we can walk to sites and restaurants.

Do you have a hotel budget in mind? Not sure about parking when staying in town. Both towns do not allow cars. Perhaps the hotel can help.

I've found a few nice options through a lovely site some friends recommeded (in fact, a friend of mine just got back from her wedding at one of their villas in Tuscany and RAVED about it): www.italiancollection.com They have a variety of options geared towards a variety of tastes at a variety of different budgets so you're bound to find something there. Then there's always venere.com.

I have stayed there and thought it was wonderful. Large room and bath. A great breakfast. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Location could not have been better. I felt it was a great value.
