Turkey: Bodrum or Antalya? Help please!

We will be in Turkey in less than 3 weeks. We have had to trim 4 nights off of our itinerary so we need to choose between Antalya or Bodrum for a couple of nights.

What would you choose and why?

Thanks!

I'm interested in this topic, as we're currently putting together an itinerary, and may face the same choice. I'm leaning towards several days in Bodrum, in order to tour Efes, spend some time on the beach, etc., but am very open to suggestions from those who have been there.

Bodrum is about 100 miles from Ephesus, it's a little long for a daytrip. Doable (maybe) but long.

It's been awhile... but I recall Antalya as mostly a resort-type place.(Had a wonderful time at the Sheraton...especially with their Turkish dinner nite!) Bodrum has a lovely castle museum, fabulous marina with lots of restaurants. I recall it as a larger place than Antalya. We drove from Antalya to Bursa and Bodrum was one of our stops (as was Ephesus) but I can't recall the time it took to travel between them.

P.S. When we visited Ephesus we stayed in Kusadasi (at the Kismet... nice). Hope this will help you pinpoint travel time.
