Tulip in Netherland

We will be in Amsterdam in the last week of May this year. I have noticed in different site that Tulip can be seen till 20th May. I would like to know that will it be all over exactly on 20th? It is something unbelievable . Can anyone guide me the actual fact so that I can enjoy Tulip on25/26 May.

We were there the first weekend in May last year and the tulips were starting to be cut in the fields and the flowers bloomed late last year due to a cold spring. I doubt the fields will still be in bloom that late in May.

Even the famous Keukenhof gardens close on 18 May so unfortunately I think you are going to miss the tulips.

Meant to add that you can still see tulips in the markets etc like Bloemenmarkt in Amsterdam. They just won't be out in the fields.

We were there the first week in May one year and they were already finished (I think more normal weather that year). You won;t see the fields while you are there.

nytraveller, that was probably 2007, when Keukenhof closed early. We had a ridiculously warm spring with tulips already blooming in March.

It has been a very mild winter this year so they could well be early again this year.
Even in a cold year though they are over by late May.

Thank you all for your valuable suggestions. What jamikins said I can see tulip in the market, I feel that will for selling purpose. not in the garden. I feel that I will miss the tulip.

Thank you all again, Any further suggestion are welcome.
