Trenitalia Question
I purchased the 29 Euro promo from Rome (14:30 departure) to Florence. Our plane arrives at 11:30am. Would we be able to make it? If not, would we be able to get on another ES train for a small penalty? Please advise. Thanks.

Let's see the schedule
FCO-Roma 13:37-14:08 train to catch
Roma-Firenze 14:30-16:06 Eurostar.
Your plane is scheduled to arrive at 11:30 and need to catch the 13:37 train or earlier from the aiport.
My last trip, it took me 1hr50min from the landing to get on FCO-Roma train; after waiting for my luggage, waiting in line to get money from an ATM and waiting in line to get a phone card. Considering that my plane was 1 hr late, I ended up catching FCO-Roma train 2hr50min after my scheduled arrival.

My daughter & SIL flew to Rome this June and reported that they went through immigration and customs in no time at all. But they didn't have to take the time to get money from the ATM or buy a phone card. SIL's cousin had planned to pick them up one hour after the plane (N/W) landed and they ended up standing outside waiting for her for about 20 minutes as they didn't even have to wait for their check in luggage.

Hi A,
The odds are in your favor.
>...would we be able to get on another ES train for a small penalty?<
You will lose 50% of what you paid and you will have to be a new ticket at the available price.

I am also trying to decide which train to take to Florence from Rome. My flight arrives at 6:50 am and I am thinking about buying my ticket when I get there - are the line ups that long at that time of day? I can't imagine all these trains being full?
