FCO to Termini-How long?

I did throw a coin in the fountain - 28 years ago!
My lady friend and I arrive at FCO at 8:05 am from Philadelphia. How much time should we allow to disembark, clear customs and make it to Termini for the train to Venice? I see the trip is at least 4.5 h and would like to make it before dark, if possible. Do you think we can make an 11:30am train?

The train from FCO to Roma termini leaves every 30 minutes
FCO: 08:37 RT: 09:08
FCO:09:07 RT: 09:38
and so on.....
I think I cleared customs etc in about an hour in 2001...may be differnt now
I feel fairly confident that you would make the 11:30 train.
Have a lovely trip.

I agree that you should probably make the 11:30 train. However, bear in mind that if you re coming from the US, you will arrive with about 6 other flights from the US which all come in around 8 am. Between waiting in line at immigration and then waiting for your luggage, it could take you an hour and a half to get out of the airport. If it looks like you are running short of time, you can always take a taxi to Termini rather than having to walk over the airport train station and possibly have to wait up to 30 minutes for the next train.

Hi PK,

We were scheduled to arrive FCO from PHL at8:05.

We arrived at the head of the track at Rome TE at 11:30.

We went to the cafe, had lunch and some wine while we people watched, and took the 12:30 train.

You might make the 11:30.

Thank you all for the responses. This board is great, I've learned a lot. We have a reservation at the Hotel Ala, so I won't stress about the arrival time, after all it's a vacation. Besides,
arriving in Venice right around sunset might be really cool, too.
