Travel time to Rome Airport?

I am trying to find out how long it would take to get to the airport by cab from The Hotel Visconti Palace in Rome. It is near the Piazza Cavour on Via Frederico Cesi.

I would be leaving between noon and 12:30 on a Tuesday afternoon and wonder if that would give enough time for a 2:45 flight to Paris?

Thanks, Lisa

You mean FCO, right? Not Ciampino?

The train to FCO takes 30 minutes from Termini, and doesn't face the potential of traffic jams. Have you got too much luggage to take it?

I would opt for the train, too. If you leave at 12.30 and get the train to Rome Fiumicino Airport(every 30 minutes), you will be there just in time to take your flight, it takes 32 minutes. If you are going to Rome Ciampino Airport (there are trains every 15 minutes), it takes only 15 minutes by train from Roma Termini.

It's much cheaper and faster!

If you get a cab, well, good luck!

The only caution I would add to the responses thus far is to be attentive of strikes. The rail strikes are usually announced well in advance and in Italy, they are more frequent than you would think. Give your timing, I would personally push back to between 11:30 and 12:00. On one of my journeys, the 30 minute train ride took 60 minutes as they stopped for a half hour for some unknown and unannounced reason.

A taxi ride might take, depending on traffic, about 40 to 60 minutes.
You need to plan on at least two hours at the airport to check in, clear customs and stand on various lines. Plan accordingly.

There is no customs inspection for leaving Italy, and no passport control either if Paris is the final stop.

Advice for US-bound travelers would not apply to a Paris-only trip.

I would do cab - since you're not near the train station - but would leave the hotel 3 hours before flight time to allow for traffic and delays.
