hello
i am wanting to travel by Bus and/or train from Paris to Calais to catch the ferry to Dover in Spetember. Any ideas how I can do this

It is a 1 and a half hour train ride from Paris.

Be aware that the ferry crossings can be VERY rough - and sometimes the seas are so rough the ferries don't run.

There are a couple of 105 - 125 min trains a day to Calais-Ville (whence an infrequent bus to the ferry terminal) and more frequent 95 min trains to Calais-Frethun, which means a 5-mile+ cab ride to the ferry (see bahn.de for the handiest collection of timetables)

Not all Calais-Dover ferries accept foot passengers, and getting from the ferry terminal onto the ferry is a lengthy hassle if you're not in a car - even lengthier and more of a hassle in reverse at Dover, where the terminal is just as remote from the railway station. The ferry companies just don't want foot passengers, who are a security nightmare and cost a fortune to deal with, and travellers don't want to be foot passengers on ferries: 99.9% of cross-channel travellers (even the illegal migrants) fly, get a direct train or drive.

You might find a through Paris-London bus meets your needs better, more cheaply and more easily. All ID Bus (http://uk.idbus.com/) routes go through the tunnel: some Eurolines buses go by ferry and some by tunnel, and you need to email them to check which (address at https://help.nationalexpress.com/hel...rry_eurotunnel)

If you book right now, you can probably get a fare of €30=50 Paris-London via Megabus. I forget how far out we booked it last year, but we took it from London-Paris via the channel ferry for £18 each; this includes the ferry fare.
