Totally Spain is an incoming agency that we've dealt with several times over the last four years. They generally handle our hotels and rental cars.

The cost of airfare will depend on your departure city and where you’re going, the airline you choose and the type of seat you're looking for.

Leaving from jfk to madrid--I'm hoping for a non-stop if possible and reasonable!

I recently booked airfare to Madrid from Newark for end of July, return end of August. I have never paid so much to go to Spain!!! But the airfares never came down and since I was somewhat locked in the dates I needed I gave in and bought them. I paid approx $1,000. I could have paid around $100 less with Iberia but I didn't want to fly from JFK.Not a good year to fly to Europe in the summer months!

Where in Spain are you traveling to?

We're flying to Madrid, train to Seville, driving to Cadiz, driving to Granada, and then driving back to Madrid. It's a trip of 12 days! Hope to see all the main sites!

A word of fair warning; August is tremendously hot and very, very crowded in Andalucia (Southern Spain). As a matter of fact, it seems that 2/3 of Europe vacation in Spain in August. That said, try continental out of EWR (Newark), airfares this summer are not great, expect to pay upwards of $900/pp. Try go-today.com for packaged deals.

I just put some random August dates and I'm getting in Continental $990 and in Iberia $950 (with taxes). Not great but that's the way they have been all along. It's slightly better that what I paid but I'm going in July and for some reason those seem to be now higher even that what I paid!
