janisj- You enter the House of Tr.Madness through a bottle shop, find a small staircase up to a small room. It was mostly full but we found a couple of seats. The time was late afternoon, so maybe that's why it wasn't crowded. It was nice, nothing too special, and we were thirsty!

Thanks, Kathleen, I love old ruins, and I appreciate the description of the Rabbies travelers.
I'm in that pre-trip period where I'm focused mainly on possible problems, and what the heck am I doing...your info is reminding me why I wanted to go.

The Harry Potter Warner Studios tour is a must see for avid Potterites. It’s also a valuable experience for anyone interested in all that goes into movie making—set design, costume design, graphic design, animation, and visual art. In my opinion, it appeals on several levels.
We bought our tickets on-line months beforehand so that we could get the date and entry time we wanted, and picked up the actual tickets there at the “will call” office. We bought our train tickets a few days ahead of time, mainly to save time at the train station the morning we took it. We ate lunch while there in the large cafeteria, since we stayed for about six hours. Staying six or more hours is reasonable for Potterites.
It was mostly a self-paced experience, except at the beginning, where as a group we had a visual presentation and tour through the “great hall”. After that you walked around with or without the audio-guide, staying at each set as long as you wanted. For my grandson, one highlight was the filming of him in a cape and riding a broomstick against a green screen (for an added fee). You select the background image that you want.
Here’s the website that discusses the total experience. https://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/
It was a fun time!

Kathleen,
This is a great post. thank you.
We are doing something similar with Harry Potter, and planning on staying 5-6 hours.
It's far enough in advance that I have my pick of times so I'm trying to figure out what time to get there. As you did, we are staying in Bloomsbury in a flat near the British Museum. Can you tell me what time your entrance to the HP Studio was, and what time you left the hotel - and did you take public transit or a car?
Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Rosebud,
I apologize for not responding sooner, but we were traveling for much of April, and May has been a blur with catching up. Since we’re planning our next trip -- Spain/Portugal -- I’m back searching for info on Europe board. Hence, I saw your post.
To answer with specifics: Our entry time was 10:30 AM. We left the hotel, took a cab to the train station and boarded the 9:00 AM train. And we knew if we missed this train, the next one would still get us there on time. We had previously purchased our round trip train tickets, so we just had to hop on board. When the train reached its end, we got off and boarded the Harry Potter buses for the last short leg of the trip. We bought those bus tickets right there. We arrived before our timed entry, had ample time to use the restrooms, retrieve the tickets at the “will call” window, and get in line. It was Sunday, the lines were already somewhat long but moved quickly. We stayed at HP for several hours and ate lunch in the large cafeteria. We weren’t rushed at any part of the day so the entire time line -- hotel, cab, train, bus, there at HP for hours, then back to town for us was perfect.
