Travel in July/August
While we all try and get through this dark time for our world, we can only hope for better days ahead.
Do you think that travel to Puglia in July/August will be possible?
Thanks

For the foreseeable future, regardless of one's age, I wouldn't take a trip without travel insurance. The cost and availability of that right now might determine whether I even contemplate traveling.

We booked our flights a few months ago before this pandemic was even in the news so if we have to cancel them and take the loss, so be it. A small amount of money lost is nothing compared to all if us doing our part to rid ourselves of this awful disease.

No, I don't. I live in Europe, and I doubt I'll even be able to travel outside my village anytime this summer, never mind go on vacation, or take a flight to another continent. Our various confinements are likely to be extended, and extended, and extended. Cue the just stop wishing you could travel to Europe music. I know I wouldn't want to be within 100 miles of a European airport for at least the next year, frankly. I'll be as happy as you if things turn out differently, but for now.......no.

Insurance only works when a few are at risk.
Who are you going to pass the risk on during a pandemic?

We had three trips scheduled for this fall and again in Jan and Feb. Still a couple months till the go/no go date but am sure we will cancel then. I don't think we will travel until a vaccine is available. Even if we succeed in a great reduction of the infection rate, the bug is still floating around and can still be infected. Will wait.

I have a flight booked for beginning of September to Barcelona and that has not been canceled as of today.
I was also curious as a have a hotel booked end of May in the UK but know, the UK hotels are closed until May 31. They have sister hotels in Paris so I checked them for my dates. They are accepting bookings but the ine in UK is not. So I don't think anyone really knows and when things do open, a lot of people are still going to be cautious.

As I said in another thread the head of the EU commission has said don't book any holiday in the EU through September. Also the EU and Schengen countries remain closed for non EU/Schengen citizens on non essential journeys until at least May 15th
The flight may not be cancelled but that doesn't mean you would be allowed in.
Restrictions are being lifted for residents in some countries but only slowly and subject to the number of infections/hospitalisations remaing stable or lowering further. Travel restrictions remain.
I would not book any travel this year.
