Transportation to Edinburgh and Glasgow
We are going to be on a cruise and have stops in Greenock and Rosyth, Scotland. I would like to tour Glasgow from Greenock and Edinburgh from the Rosyth stop. I'm wondering what is the best way to get to these cities from the piers.
Does anyone know if taxis usually hang around the piers looking for customers, or is it necessary to make an advance reservation for one.
I didn't think I would need to hire a guide for the day as I was more interested in touring the cities on my own -- hop on-hop off bus and that sort of thing.
Any suggestions??

You can catch buses from both but since your shore excursion times are probably pretty short, you should take cabs. There will be taxis waiting to meet the boat. But many other passengers will likely also be wanting cabs so you might want to hook up w/ another couple to share the ride.
