Train Travel Athens to Bucharest
I need info. for a fall trip from Greece to Romania. How long and how dificult is it to travel by train and is the Balkan Flexipass a good deal? Anyone travel by air? If so, what airline & how was it? Thanks

The reference library of a city near you may have the Thomas Cook European Timetable. Table 60 has your connection via the Transbalkan Express. Athens 1424, buffet car train, Thessaloniki 2124 to 2300, Transbalkan Express with 1, 2 and 3 berth sleepers (breakfast in Sofia 0726 to 0830 and lunch at Ruse 1530 to 1645) Bucharest Nord 1930. You can enjoy a day each in Thessaloniki and Sofia if you travel thus, with a sleeper or couchette each night.
