Train to the Plane

I will be traveling from Florence to Rome by Eurostar train. If I aarive at 8:24 in Rome, will I have enough time to make it to the airport to catch a 10:30 plane to calabria?

1. Which airport?

2. What time is the next Fiumicino express after 8:24, if it is to that airport you are headed?

I'm going to catch a 10:30 plane at Fumochino(sorry for the spelling). I'm not sure what time the express train to the arport leaves. I will check. I'm thinking that I may be cutting it close. What do you guys think?

I checked the Termini Express site today in anticipation of a train trip in July and it says they depart every 30 minutes at :07 and :37 - maybe that helps?

I looked at alitalia.com and its says its check-in time limit at FCO 30 minutes for domestic flight. So, it seems like you do have enough time. Even if you miss the 8:37a Leonardo Express, the 9:07 can still get you there, barely.

Your train from Firenze may not arrive on time.

I would take the earlier train from Firenze.

Hello Mariastenfnyc, I strongly agree with nessundorma and tuscanlifeedit, don't count on your train leaving Florence and arriving in Rome on time. Do take an earlier train so that you do not miss your flight. Best wishes for a beautiful time in Italy!

Easier said than done - there is no earlier train.

Fingers crossed.

Hi M,

According to this morning's www.trenitalia.com, the LDV from Rome TE to Fiumicino leaves on the :22 and :52. The LDV from FCO leaves on the :05 and the :35

You will be at FCO about 09:30, if all goes well.

Your 05:55 arriving at Rome TE at 08:24 is an IC, not an ES*. It is more likely to be late than the ES*. If you miss the 08:52, you won't get to FCO until about 10:00

There is an 05:33 train from FSMN arriving Rome Tiburtina at 08:09.

From there, you can take the 08:36, arriving Aeroporto Fiumicino at 09:18. If you miss that train, the next one will get you to FCO at 09:33.

Hope this helps.

Yes, ira is correct. :22 and :52. So, basically you have one shot. If you miss the 8:52, you're screwed.
