train to Prague
Is it possible to take a train from Florence or Bologna to Prague? Is there more than one type of train? What is the cost and how long is the trip? I went to several Italian train sites but couldn't find any that travelled out of the country. Thanks

Try website http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/que...6&OK#focus
It's possible, but it is apparently not easy. Looks like 17 hours or so. Don't know how much it costs.

Hi P,
www.railsaver.com says it's $120 for Florence to Prague in 2 cl.
It will be more if you want a sleeper berth.
There are no direct trains. It will take you about 17 hr.

I think you can take a train anywhere that there is a train station, and these cities certainly have one. Whether the route is convenient, and how much time it takes with transfers, its another story. I don't know how those websites will figure the route for you, but I think the most direct route would be Florence/Bologna to Munich and then Munich to Prague, if you want to split it up when searching.
