Train to Marseilles
Does anyone know how to pull information from the SNCF website regarding train to Marseilles? I'm trying to go from Paris CDG airport to Marseilles, but the website says that there are more than 3 connections for this trip. Is this true?
Thanks in advance for any info you may have.

There are direct trains with no changes and plenty with one change - sample schedule from the German rail web site which has schedules for all of Europe and is easier to use for me than sncf French site. An easy way to access the German site's English language page is to go to: www.budgeteuropetravel.com and on the home page click on the link "All European Railway Schedules" and instantly up pops the English schedule page where you put in Paris Airport CDG and Marseilles and the date and you'll get all the trains.

I can't imagine what you are looking at that would show that on the sncf website. I just checked www.voyages-sncf.com, putting in Roissy as departure point and Marseille as arrival station, for a random Wed. in May (5/24) and it showed many trains all day long from 9 am to 9 pm, and not a single one of them had even three connections, let alone more.
Most had one connection in Lyon, but a few had none. I even used the English section, rather than French, in case that's what you were doing.

This may be silly, but you aren't by any chance reading the schedule wrong? They show the same place twice for a connection (once for arrival and then for departure), so one connection would have four place names (eg, Aeroport CDG 2 TGV, Lyon Part Dieu, Lyon Part Dieu, Marseille St Charles)

Thank you for all your replies. For some reason, when I type "AIRPORT CDG" nothing comes up, but when I change it to Roissy, all the trains are listed. What does Roissy stand for anyway? One more question - is this train trip scenic? I'm considering also taking a flight, but wouldn't mind looking at the scenery on the train ride also.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Roissy is the name of a village near the CDG airport and lots of French people call the airport just Roissy - thus Roissy Rail for the airport link from Gare du Nord.
The 3 changes were from trains from Gare de Lyon so they had you going from the airport via RER and changing to another RER to get to Gare de Lyon and on some connections changing in Lyon.
The ride is very nice - rural Burgundy is especially bucolic, even at 185 mph - to me all of France is pretty, Europe's prettiest country besides Alpine lands in my opinion through and through.
