Train from Leonardo da Vinci airport
I'm hoping to take the train to termini station from Leonardo da Vinci airport. How difficult would this be to do? Are there plenty of signs at the airport to direct us to where we want to go? How much is the train? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

Hi Lyndamcn,
taking the train is extremely simple. Termini has plenty of signs and you would easily find someone to ask for directions, too.
have a look at : http://www.adr.it/content.asp?Subc=1361&L=3&idMen=731
and for further info at:
http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/fer...il/inglese.jsp
typing Fiumicino Aeroporto as arrival station.
it costs 11€.
Hope it helps

Lyndamcn,
Search the messages here for the Leonardo Express, FCO, etc. There was a post awhile back with terrific step by step directions on how to take the train. I printed it out last year and it was helpful. It is very simple.

HI L,
As you exit Customs, follow the signs that show a train, and the people, to the train station, where you buy your tickets to Rome TE - 11E pp.
The LdV express leaves every 1/2 hr.
You will arrive at the far left-hand side of the station, a good way out.
When you get off the train, walk toward the engine and keep going. It's about 15 min to the head of the tracks.
Schedules from aeroporto fiumicino to Rome are at

These directions are pre-Terminal D but still should be helpful if you are arriving at D. http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...2&tid=34808734

It's extremely easy to find both the Leonardo Express and the local train to Rome which leaves from the track opposite the express. The local train might actually be more convenient for you depending on where in the city you need to go. If you really want the Termini stop, you should take the Leonardo Express
