I've booked a flight from Australia to Rome and as part of my trip, I'm booked on 9 day tour from Rome heading Northwards and looping back to Rome.
Prior to this I have 4 or 5 days to organise for myself at the beginning of June. I am looking at possibly doing another multiday tour or day tours covering southern Italy, and after some searching on fodors, I've thus far come up with Enjoyrome.com. Can anyone recommend a budget style tour company (3 star hotels) which operates out of rome?

Well, enjoyrome is about as budget as you can get. Three star hotels aren't necessarily budget. I liked the day tours I took with enjoyrome, the longer trips should be good too.
