Torino to Mont Blanc
Hi,
I want to go to the highest possible point of Mont Blanc reachable by cable cars/ elevators. I want to depart from Torino and return to Torino on the same day, if possible. I want to go by public transport (the cheaper the better). I'd like to get some advice on this (prices/ suggestions on conveyance, etc).
Thanks,
Bob

You want either a direct bus from from Turin (as we call it in English, which I assume is the language you intended writing your question in) to Courmayeur or a train from Turin to Aosta, then the bus to Courmayeur. Either way, you change to another bus at Courmayeur bus station to go 4 km up to La Palud where you get the Funivia di Montebianco (www.nuovefuniviemontebianco.com)to Punto Heilbronner, which is about as high as you can get without walking.
It's tricky doing the round trip to and from Turin in a day, but I'm sure that if you get the first train you might manage it. Buses are at www.savda.it, but I think they leave too late for a daytrip.
It's an all-weather road, relatively easily driveable in all but the most extreme weather, from central Turin to La Palud, by the way. Why not just hire a car?
