Catching the bus from Orange to Vaison La Romaine Saturday

Thought I would update an old closed topic that I came across on the net.
The bus departs from Bus stop outside SNCF Gare Orange at the top of Ave Frederic Mistral. I caught the 10.35am Saturday bus. Its the bus marked Ligne (Line) 4. Other buses stop here as well. This is the only bus for the day on Saturdays in April/May. There is a timetable available as a pdf online or from the Orange tourist centre.
The cost was 2 euro one way and the trip took 40 minutes. It was a pleasant and scenic route via a few small villages. The terminus in Vaison La Romaine is not far from the old town.

There are 2 later bus departures at 12.45 and 17.50. I wasn't sure where the outward bound bus station was so I decided to catch the bus home from the other Vaison bus stop not too far away. Its called Cave La Romaine after the winery operating there.

I caught the later bus after a great day seeing the roman remains and wandering through the medieval town over the over side of the Pont Romain. I decided to be sure of catching the bus by walking up to the "Cave La Romaine" bus stop, just up from the Roman Theatre. There is a sign directing you there near the Tourist Information Centre. Had a few samples of their wares while waiting. Can definitely recommend the wines.
The bus came on time at 17.52 and I was back in Orange at 18.20.
BTW the traffic in Vaison looked hectic especially when the wedding groups promenade around town with their large entourage of cars honking and taking selfies hanging out the windows. Lots of tourist vans as well. So the bus was a good decision and it was a day well spent. Must say that the iPod audio guides you rent from the Museum (to interpret all the sites) are useless in the sun. I much prefer the older style with push buttons as audio guides.
