Too Early To Buy Tickets?
I am flying to NYC from SFO in May. I also want to fly to LHR from NYC.
So far I am seeing prices online for about 900 bucks total....which seems a bit steep.
I see that it is cheaper to fly into newark airport, but I dont know how far that is from NYC.
Anyone know if it is too soon to buy tickets? Any suggestions?
900 seems the average for separate flights, and combined flights.

Piece of cake to get into Manhattan from the Newark airport. The train takes you to Penn Station for about $12.
Can't advise you on the combined cost. Maybe someone else can help with that part of your question.
IMHO it is never too early to buy tickets if you find good connections and a price you can live with. It sounds to me that you haven't really found the price yet.

EWR is about the same distance to mid-town Manhattan as JFK. However, the train (AirTrain + NJTransit ~$12) does cost a little more than from JFK (AirTrain + Subway or LIRR ~$8).
$900 for seperate tickets sound pretty reasonable. I assume you're staying in NYC for a little while, right?

I just got a quote on Kayak.com of $735 on United from SFO to London and back from Paris to SFO, Leaving May 15 and coming back July 18. Cutting out NYC might offer better prices. I did not pursue the issue and see if it included taxes because I am still in the planning stages of my trip. But this definitely cheaper than $650 one way to Lisbon, which is out ultimate destination in May.
