Todi or Gubbio for a day trip?

We can't decide on Todi versus Gubbio for a day trip from Bevagna. They both sound lovely. Sounds like Todi might get more tourists, which is okay for us, and that Todi might be a little prettier/less austere than Gubbio. But Gubbio has the bucket of bolts! We love medieval towns. I know it's quite subjective, but I would love to hear if you preferred one over the other, and why, such as the food, people, atmosphere, churches and museums, shopping, whatever. Thank you!

I think that Gubbio is more attractive than Todi, and there is a better overview of it:

I also vote for Gubbio. Have fun on "The Bucket Of Bolts" and be sure to use the correct petrol

Michael, thank you for the photos.
Maitaitom, your trip report was funny and helpful. So you are the one who coined bucket of bolts?
