To the Venice airport

Unless we change our plans, we will be leaving the Venice airport around 6:40 am. What is the best way to get there at that time of the day? How much before the flight do we need to get there?

Having returned recently from Venice, we found that the hotel personnel can give valuable transportation info--especially for that early flight. You can book a hotel room near the airport for the night before you leave Venice, which is what my travel companions did. It was cheaper to book the room near the airport, than pay for a water taxi ride (about $95.00US per person) to the airport (at 5:00am). The bus runs early-and is inexpensive-and leaves about every 30 minutes--but you have to ask yourself, if you really want to wander around Venice at 4:30 -5:00am? Just a few thoughts.......

Here's a recent thread on the same question:

It might give you a good idea or two.

Good evening, damama
A taxi boat from Marco Polo Airport to your hotel in Venice should run about
78 Euros for two or 4 persons. It is a must to agree on a price before boarding the boat. Higher rates may apply for a larger group. Have the concierge of your hotel make the reservations for the trip to the airport with the confirmed price.
Legimate taxis have a yellow ticker with the registeration number of the taxi on the side windows of the motor boat. Have a good trip and have the camera ready for the trip...

thanks for the information. I think we may stay closer to the airport, especially since we will save close to $150 on the hotel and transportation.

Hi dam,

I think that the airport desks open between 5:00 and 5:30.

A water taxi will be about 80E **for the boat** not per person.
