The train b/t Brussels and Amsterdam will take about 3 hours each way. The part I don't know is how to get out to see the tulips... but someone else will probably help you out here...
(I think it might involve a bus to Leiden)...

Ira, you did it again! I needed a good laugh. Thanks.

Sorry, petertherabbitt, but I can't answer your question. Enjoy your trip!

This site may provide the info you need about travel times and schedules: http://www.raileurope.com/us/index.htm

By the way, the word you're looking for is "too."

<<By the way, the word you're looking for is "too.">>

or maybe the typo was "far" instead of "fear"...

or instead of "fart"...

THAT is the question!

Best wishes,

Rex

What tulip festival?

If you mean you want to go out to Keukenhof (www.keukenhof.nl) when the flowers are at their best, you might just be in time (though this is an astonishingly mild winter, and flowers may be way ahead of normal).

But do remember that you've got to get a train out to Leiden (far too rarely recommended on this board, BTW) from Amsterdam and then get a bus or taxi on to the gardens. You're going to have very little visiting time left.

Driving will be a great deal quicker, and gives you the flexibility to drive through some commercial bulb fields as well.

Actually, you change trains in the Hague, but it still takes about 2.5 hrs to get to Leiden.

Trains run hourly until quite late in the evening, so it's doable if there's anything to see at Keukenhof (which closes 20 May this year).
